Calendário do Advento

Olá bom dia! Já tinha saudades de vir escrever aqui no blog, apesar de uma certa falta de inspiração nos meus crochets..ainda não tenho lãs para continuar os meus WIPs de Natal e ando um pouco desmotivada. Peguei então nos meus tecidos, nos meus feltros e na minha máquina de costura para fazer o Calendário do Advento. 

Hi good morning! I've missed writting here on the blog, although I haven't got any inspiration for my crochets..I still not have yarn for my Christmas WIPs and I feel a little bit demotivated. So I grab my fabrics, my felts and my sewing machine to make the Advent Calendar.

Na minha infância lembro-me de ter tido daqueles de compra apenas com os chocolates (que eu não aguentava comer apenas um por dia..!). As actividades de Natal são uma novidade ainda recente para mim. Agora com o G. a fazer 3 anos era mais que óbvio que iria fazer um calendário destes.

In my childhood I remember having those bought chocolate calendars (that I couldn't wait to eat all the chocolates..!). The Christmas activities are recent to me. Now with G. turning 3 it was clearly obvious I would make one of these calendars.

Quando vi esta flor maybelle experimentei algumas de várias cores e têm estado guardadas numa caixa em cima da minha mesa. Lembrei-me de usar a vermelha e a azul. Só porque sim.

When I saw this maybelle flower I tried to make some with different colours and they have been kept on a box on my table. Now I remember to use the red and the blue one. Just because.

Os números foram cosidos à mão...não tenho assim tanta prática com a máquina..! 

I sewed myself the numbers...I don't have that many practice with the sewing machine..!

Resta-me fazer a lista das actividades, comprar os chocolates e esperar por Dezembro que está quase aí. Beijinhos, Andreia

Mais uma herança...!

Olá! Espero que o fim-de-semana esteja a correr bem para toda a gente, o meu está a ser bom, com a família junta. Eu sei que ainda é um pouco cedo, mas já comecei a preparar o material para o G. levar para a creche (vai entrar em Setembro). Ou seja, comecei a identificar os pertences dele, tais como os lençóis para dormir a sesta, o bibe e o chapéu. Decidi-me a bordar o seu nome e pus-me a procurar as linhas e quais as cores que ficavam melhor.

Hi! Hope the weekend is fine for everybody, mine is being good, with the family together. I know it's a bit early, but I've been preparing the material for G. take to nursery school (it starts in September). I started to identify his belongs, such as the bedding for the nap time, the bib and the hat. I decided to embroider his name and I put myself looking the lines and the colours that fit better.

Lembrei-me que a minha mãe tinha estas linhas guardadas que não chegou a fazer uso e pedi-lhas. 

I remember my mom had these kept that she didn't use so I ask her.

Vieram de Angola, há cerca de 40 anos. A minha mãe ainda era solteira e era uma moça muito prendada. Estas são brasileiras e têm uma textura que provoca que elas se enrolam. De todas as que ela me deu, só consegui tirar estas do saco, uma vez que as outras estão de tal maneira emaranhadas, que me foi mesmo impossível.

They came from Angola, 40 years ago. My mother was a very gifted young single lady. These are brasilian and their texture makes them wind up. She gave me a lot, but I only could manage get out of the bag these ones, the others were so so tangled, that was completely impossible. 

 

Também tinha estas que são portuguesas. São linhas mais finas - linha de seda - com uma textura mais lisa e mais suave ao bordar.

These ones are portuguese. Are thiner  - silk - with a smoother and softer texture while embroidering.

 

O que o G. precisa para a creche já está pronto...qualquer dia quando voltar a saudade de fazer bordados mais bonitos, vou voltar a pegar nestas linhas! Já agora, e por curiosidade, haverá alguém por aí que ainda tenha ou conheça alguém que tenha linhas destas? Beijinhos!

What G. needs for the nursery school it's done... one day I will make prettier embroiderys and I will work with these again! By the way, and for curiosity, is there someone that have or knows someone that have these kind of lines? Kisses!

Capa para a máquina de costura

Com o pouco tempo disponível que tenho, mas com bastante vontade de ver resultados, já está pronta a capa para a minha máquina de costura! Ontem à noite estive até tarde para a acabar e agora entendo quando falam no "mundo das cores e dos tecidos"! Ainda não tinha feito nenhum trabalho sozinha em costura (tinha sempre ajuda da minha mãe..), mas agora espero conseguir realizar alguns trabalhos (aprende-se muito com os nossos erros!). Costura nunca foi o meu forte, mas confesso que gostei muito de fazer esta capa. Está longe de estar perfeita, mas enche-me as medidas. Estou satisfeita.

With so little time, but a huge will to see results, it's allready done the cover for my sewing machine! Last night I stayed up lately to finish it and now I understand when someone talk about "the magic world of colours and fabrics"! I still haven't done any craft in sewing all by myself (my mother allways helped..), but now I hope acomplish a few (we learn a lot with our mistakes!). Sewing never was my favorite, but I confess that I enjoyed very much doing this cover. It's far way to be perfect, but I'm pleased.

 

O processo foi bastante simples: basta medir a altura, a profundidade e o comprimento da máquina. As laterais são a altura x profundidade. A parte da frente, de trás e o topo é só um tecido e é comprimento x (profundidade + 2 x altura).

The process is quite simple: measure the height, the depth and the length of the machine. The side are height x depth. The front, the back and the top are just one fabric and it's length x (depth + 2 heigth).
