Passo-a-Passo: Circle-in-a-square

For those who have been followed my blog since the beginning, allready noticed that I show the step-by-step for each pattern I use on my cushions. I still didn't know what to do next, but after a few research, I found this one from Kervei blog. It's a quite simple pattern to do and I hope you have fun just like I do..!

1. Fazer o anel mágico, 3 correntes (contam como 1 ponto alto), 11 pontos altos.
Fechar com ponto baixíssimo.
Ficamos com 12 pontos.

1. Do the magic ring, 3 chains (count as 1 double stitch), 11 double stitches.
Join with a slip stich.
You get 12 stitches.

2. Work 3 chains (count as 1 dc), increase 2 dc on each stitch in previous round.
Join with a sl st.
You get 24 stitches.

3. Fazer 3 correntes (contam como 1 ponto alto), 2 pontos altos no ponto seguinte, 1 ponto alto, 2 pontos altos....
Fechar com ponto baixíssimo.
Ficamos com 36 pontos.

3. Work 3 chains (count as 1 dc), 2 dc on next stitch, 1 dc, 2 dc....
Join with a sl st.
You get 36 stitches.

If you want you can put now the colour to make the square. I did all the circles first, so I fastened off  and then I continue with the yarn of the square on any stitch.
4. Fazer 4 pontos baixos, 1 meio ponto alto, 1 ponto alto.
1 ponto alto duplo - 3 correntes - 1 ponto alto duplo no mesmo ponto.
Repetir 4 vezes. Fechar com ponto baixíssimo.

4. Work 4 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc.
1 double dc - 3 ch - 1 double dc on same space.
Repeat 4 times. Join with a sl st.

Join-as-you-go

Fazer o ponto alto duplo e continuar no quadrado inicial.

Simply join the squares with a single sc on each corner space. I mean, work the same stitches, when you've done the 3 ch, pass the neddle beneath the corner space of the other square and pull the yarn to make a sc. Work the double dc and keep going on the initial square.

Divirtam-se e até ao próximo post! Beijinhos, Andreia

In this time of the year, we have an abundant crop of tomato. In our house, in spite of none of us likes tomato salad, we enjoy it cooked in the soup, in the rice..and also cooked like homemade sauce or jam.

Doce de Tomate

Ingredientes:

Pesar.

Tomato Jam

Ingredients:
1 kg Tomate (clear of skin and seeds)
1 kg sugar
1 stick of cinnamon
1 rind of lemon

Preparation:
Dip the tomatos in boiling water to remove the skin in an easy way. Take off the great part of the seeds and let the water strain. Weigh.
Cut in small peaces and add the sugar, the cinnamon stick and the rind of lemon.
Mix and let it macerate a little bit. Take to the stove and boil it in a low fire.
Remove the rind and the stick. Triturate.
Put the jam still hot in the pasteurized jars, put the lid and place them upside down to create vacuum during the night.

WIP Circle-in-a-square

When G. left the crib for the single bed, we chose to use the bed that belongs to a studio that we have in the office room. Meanwhile he shares the room with his sister, who's on the crib, and later we will buy furniture for each one. The cushions were 4 (2 retangulars for the back and 2 cylindrical for the arms). Yes, I must warn that I'm going to make covers for them all..!!

So, I've allready started the cover for one of the retangulars to join the granny squares blanket that is also a WIP. I decided to work more colours to make a little happy and not to be only blue, white and grey... A retangular cushion with circles:

The most beautiful garden in the world for us is the one that keeps our memories. Our childhood and the first time we ride a bicycle (those with 2 litte wheels in the back to support). Our relationship, the first kiss and the proposal. The first walk with our oldest son. We've been to so many and so pretty places, but this will continue to be our favorite.

Take a peek on this original roof, all covered with doors! Allthough it's more recent and doesn't belong to my memories, I must have to show you..!

Beer and Cappucino

Boa noite!

Good evening! Today we went to the grandparents home and these days are allways tiring...many plays, G. wants to catch the chicken and the little quails, C. just wanna be with me..she doesn't walk by herself yet, my arms hurts. We go to the grandma vegetable garden, and to the grandpa workshop. We go visit the aunt that is recovering. The cousin comes to play with G. On these days, the table is full. Of food and people. There is noise and that feels so good...!

Well...but today's post is only to show you my new glasses - beer version and cappucino version.

 Beijinhos e bons crochets!

Sweet Blue Cupcake Pincushion

I wait anxiously for another trip to the yarn store.. Meanwhile I'm making little crochets and becoming my house more "home, sweet home"! This time I show you a pincushion with the shape of a cupcake (I find adorable the crochets with shape of food..!).

And here it is side by side with the fabric pincushions, on the spot that belongs to here in my mini-craft room:

Até ao próximo post! Beijinhos

Decidi-me a bordar o seu nome e pus-me a procurar as linhas e quais as cores que ficavam melhor.

Hi! Hope the weekend is fine for everybody, mine is being good, with the family together. I know it's a bit early, but I've been preparing the material for G. take to nursery school (it starts in September). I started to identify his belongs, such as the bedding for the nap time, the bib and the hat. I decided to embroider his name and I put myself looking the lines and the colours that fit better.

I remember my mom had these kept that she didn't use so I ask her.

They came from Angola, 40 years ago. My mother was a very gifted young single lady. These are brasilian and their texture makes them wind up. She gave me a lot, but I only could manage get out of the bag these ones, the others were so so tangled, that was completely impossible.

These ones are portuguese. Are thiner  - silk - with a smoother and softer texture while embroidering.

Beijinhos!

What G. needs for the nursery school it's done... one day I will make prettier embroiderys and I will work with these again! By the way, and for curiosity, is there someone that have or knows someone that have these kind of lines? Kisses!
